Recently Extreme Endurance athlete Andy Nelson traveled to Pagosa Springs, Colorado to compete in the Devil Mountain 50k.
The Devil Mountain 50k is one of the most senic 50ks in the United States. This course is very beautiful but it’s also very tough.
In his preparation for the event. Andy had been using Extreme Endurance everyday for the past 4 months. He was taking 3 tablets am and 3 tablets pm. This was his first crack at an ultra distance event.
As you can see from the elevation profile he had to deal with a lot of climbing. (5000 feet) As a result he produced a lot of Lactic Acid.
Just finishing this race is an Epic achievement. Andy came in 6th! Finishing in a time of 5:06:59. He was surprised by how good he felt after so much climbing and punishment out on the course.
We were not surprised. We know that Extreme Endurance is clinically proven to raise your aerobic threshold by double digits and buffer the burn of lactic acid by 15%.
Here are a few of the highlights from the event.
- Spectacular course run through rarely visited forests.
- Breathtaking views.
- Elevation gains 5,000’ feet during the 50k..
- A course comprised of more than 80% single track.
