My recovery is far quicker now!
Race report Provence 70.3   This weekend saw the French (renown for their brilliant race organization) tackle the showing of the first Ironman 70.3. Held in Provence the race did not disappoint.  Before I get lost in a descriptive of the gorgeous Provence countryside, stunning architecture and general French charm, I’ll conclude before I start.  This is a great race set in beautiful...

My last race data was staggering for me.
I just wanted to let you know that I have been having a great season this year. Though it had a lull from May-June when my wife and I had our little boy. But as we transitioned in adding child #2, we were able to keep health and fitness a high priority.    All that said, after having a season ending accident in 2010, when I was hit by a car in May, I knew coming back in 2011 was going to be...

I am 70 years young
I am an ultra runner usually running 50K or 50 mile events.  Was wondering if it would benefit me to maybe take the “extreme endurance” tablets during the event? 10 days ago I ran a 6 hour timed event ( on asphalt ) and did not have ANY muscle discomfort after the race.  I finished with just over 30 miles. Normally, I suffer when going up or downstairs for a day or so.  I had been...

Win at Challenge-Walchsee and on to Kona
1) How often have you been to Kona before? First time I went to Kona was in 2007, I didn’t race there but coached my boyfriend and learned a lot about the course, the following up year 2008 I had my best race ever till now on the big Island, I finished 2nd in the Professional Female’s with the fastes Bike time off the day. As I love the Island I had several training camps there and this year will...

Getting ready for Kona
Interview; Heleen Bij de Vaate about Kona 1. How often have you been to Kona before? I’ve been in Kona for 4 times. 2006 (13th) 2008 (29th) 2009 (did not start because of injury) 2010 (9th) 2. Could you give us some insight into your training until Kona? This summer I did 2 Ironmans within 3 weeks time, IM Austria and IM Frankfurt. So after Frankfurt I took a little break to reload my...

Finally I feel some of my "old" form coming back
I just won the OBRA (Oregon Bicycle Racing Association) Singlespeed MTB Championship Sunday and my friend Kenji took these great photos at the local short track race the next day. I am currently leading that series. You are free to use any of these photos just credit Kenji Sugahara. He can also provide higher resolution shots if need be. The supplements are working great with my CPAP therapy....

I'm aiming for nothing less than a win.
After the Outlaw Iron Distance race, I needed just 24 hours to get back into training. However I feel that I need to report back on some EE usage. I took a break for a week and then had a training holiday in France. I spent a few days mountain biking in the alps but also went for a good 2 hour alpine run. The next day my legs were in bits. Despite cold pools, compression gear etc, it took me 4...

Age-Grouper
Extreme Endurance has been an outstanding addition to my overall training routine.  As an age-grouper, I have to balance my training with graduate school, work, and so many other “general life” obligations.  To those ends, it becomes critical to take a quality over quantity approach to workouts.  Extreme Endurance allows me to recover faster from hard efforts, making it much easier...

3 Weeks Between IM Races
It’s the morning after the race. As usually I slept only a couple of hours, so what can you better do then writing a story for your website. It started as an experiment to see how I would perform in an IM race just 3 weeks afther another IM race. And the second reason that I signed up for Frankfurt was that I didn’t know before hand if I would have enough points to go to Kona. After...

Clever in the water, radical on the bike
Yvonne van Vlerken (Endurance Team Austria) claims victory, sets new course record in the land of 1000 hills. Clever in the water, radical on the bike.  It wouldn´t be enough to have one of the toughest bike-courses on the half-distance with the hills of the Kraichgau-region, the run turned out to be a hot-humid experience which elevated the Challenge to an even more exclusive level.  Yvonne van...

First of all, Extreme Endurance contains no beta-alanine. Beta-alanine, in itself, is not a buffer. It is a non-essential amino acid. It first must be synthesized to carnosie. Carnosie is the dipeptide that functions as a buffer, not beta-alanine. We call beta-alanine the “snail’s pace” to buffering acid. Extreme Endurance, also known as Xendurance in Europe, is targeted to buffering the...

Athlete Review
I have been using Extreme Endurance for a couple months now with a great deal of success.  There are things that I have noticed that I was taking for granted thinking that I was just hitting all my training well and able to get after it again the next day.  But at the end of the 1st bottle, I ended up going off of Extreme Endurance for about 5 days waiting for the arrival of the next bottle...

High Wind Transforms Opener into Duathlon
Yvonne van Vlerken takes bronze-medal at the season-opener in New Orleans! Ironman transforms into Duathlon over 90 km bike and 21 km running after cancelling of swim due to 30mi/h wind-blast. Already two hours before the start the cancellation of the swimming distance was announced due to bad blasts of wind. The security of the participants as well as the volunteers could not be...

Secret Formula
We are doing pretty good over here on Fuji-CyclingTime.com! i got 5th in the UCI 2.2 Tour of Thailand prologue, Tjarco got 8th, then I was third on Stage 5. Tjarco had another 5th and a 7th, stages (i think) 4 & 6.  not bad for first race os season.  Tjarso is also 2nd currently in the list of ALL dutch pros  -including ProTour - for wins. the list reads Rabobank, Fuji, Rabobank, Rabobank,...

2 Minute Improvement on Old Record
First 2 races of the season have proved interesting.   Race 1: A duathlon, which was a world championship qualifier. I have had a few weeks off using extreme endurance due to intermittent training through work pressure. I started the first of a 2 lap 10 k run pretty strongly and kept with the lead group. We were running at around 5.15-5.20 per mile pace and feeling pretty good. After 5k, I lost...

Life is but a series of moments
One moment I was in the thick of a triathlon battle royale, the next I was on the side of the road helping a fellow athlete who had hit the deck hard and was now lying prostrate on a hot and unyielding chip-sealed road in a state of raw unconsciousness. The Vasse Highway had claimed yet another victim. It was here, maybe 12k into the bike leg that my race in Karri Valley effectively ended. The...

Taking my Xendurance Everday!
A different year! Last 6 years always I escaped from the bad winter weather in the Netherlands to warm places with a lot of sun. So it has been a while that I saw the winter in the months of January and February. But this year I decided to stay in the northern part of Europe. In January we moved to Compiegne, a small city 70 km above Paris. It’s a lovely place with a big forest. So a...

Product Review: Extreme Endurance, Lactic Acid...
By Lee Rodgers Date: 8/25/2010 Product Review: Extreme Endurance, Lactic Acid Buffer These aren’t magical little beans that will turn you into a Euro Pro - you still need to put the miles in - but they will decrease lactic acid build-up, therefore allowing you to train at a higher intensity for longer… I am a little wary as I begin to write this review. I’ve written many before as part of my...

Is this really possible?- No muscle soreness For those reading another thread about a certain product with a few rather substantial claims, I’m prepared to go back on my initial scepticism and say there is definitely something in it. Off the back of the subliminal messages from IM talk, i picked up some Extreme Endurance whilst in the states in the summer and tried it for a month as...
